Herbal Liniment
1 quart Rubbing Alcohol
2 ounces powdered Myrrh
1 ounce powdered Golden Seal
1/2 ounce Cayenne pepper
Mix the ingredients together and allow to stand for at least a week, shaking every day. Strain, bottle and use as needed.

Poor Man's Ginseng: An infusion of the dried rhizomes is used to treat digestive disorders, skin irritations, infections and sores. It stops bleeding, works as a tonic, laxative, and as a stimulant for the secretion of bile. Large doses of goldenseal is very poisonous. A tea made with the root cleansed skin conditions
such as acne and eczema. Once abundant, the only American goldenseal is rare now because its thick yellow roots have had great commercial value. They were used to treat dyspepsia, skin erruptions, and hemmorage, and were also a source of yellow dye and an insect repellant. Lewis and Clark described Goldenseal to Thomas Jefferson as a "Sovereign remedy for sore eyes."
