Herbal Liniment
1 quart Rubbing Alcohol
2 ounces powdered Myrrh
1 ounce powdered Golden Seal
1/2 ounce Cayenne pepper

Mix the ingredients together and allow to stand for at least a week, shaking every day. Strain, bottle and use as needed.

They were used to treat dyspepsia, skin erruptions, and hemmorage, and were also a source of yellow dye and an insect repellant. Lewis and Clark described Goldenseal to Thomas Jefferson as a "Sovereign remedy for sore eyes."
