Make no bones about it, having a pet may prevent allergies in children.

The information comes from a study of 500 babies followed from birth until age 7.

"Having dogs and cats in the household actually reduces the risk not only that the child will be allergic to cats and dogs, but that they'll be allergic to many common allergens and in fact, it seems that the more cats and dogs, the better," said Dr. Dennis Ownby, of the Medical College of Georgia.

The study found children who lived with two or more dogs and cats during their first year of life cut their risk of developing allergies in half.  Researchers believe the exposure to pets could have a positive affect on the immune system.
PETS MAY PREVENT ALLERGIES
Those who can laugh without cause have either found the true meaning of happiness or have gone stark raving mad.

Allergies such as hay fever will often cause sinusitis. A little Lavender gently massaged
into the sinuses at either side of the nose will help to clear the condition. Be sure to dilute in a carrier oil.
